Study through Proverbs: Words of Wisdom
Have you ever come to a point in your life where you feel that nothing you do is good enough? You try so hard to do everything you can to get where you want to go, or you have a plan you have set in stone, but it ends up being a long, dreadful, unpleasant experience? I have encountered this a number of times. The past few months the Lord has been working in my heart and convicting me. I find myself striving to get where I want to go, without seeking God's direction and the plan He already has for my life. Its a daily struggle for me to fully place my trust in Him...why??? Because I let sin get in the way of the Lord leading me. I doubted at times that He would have the best plan, because I was wanting to be in control of my life. Lately, He got a grip on my heart and I knew that I needed to listen to Him. I need to start fearing the Lord, serving Him and walking in His ways. He gives us a promise that He will never leave us or forsake us(Hebrews 13:5). I recently read that fearing God is having such a reverence for Him, that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives. I know that I must now start relying totally on Him and His word daily. I thought that I should start reading the Book of Proverbs to seek guidance and instruction for the Lord. This book has already helped me with facing some difficult challenges by helping me to make wise choices. God tells us that Fearing the Lord is the beginning of knowledge- Proverbs 1:7. It is easy to reject wisdom and we all do at times, but we must not lean on our own understanding. God rewards us when we choose to listen. we must receive Gods words and hide his commandments inside of us so we can hear the wisdom that comes from the Lord and apply our hearts to wanting to understand his Word- Proverbs 2:1-2. If we do this, the Lord promises us that we will then be able to understand righteousness, judgement, and equity to walk uprightly with the Lord. Wisdom delivers us from the ways of evil, which is why we must fear the Lord so we can depart from sinful ways. Just thought I would share this reminder with you all since the Lord has laid it on my heart. Constantly ask yourself: 1. Is it right? 2. Is it helpful? 3. Would God approve? Remember: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths- Proverbs 3:5-6 <3
